replacement bulb socket/ pigtail

Post by DeeSi »

Hi, I have a 2009 s60 2.5t. While replacing the H11 halogen bulbs today(blindly and upside down btw) I managed to mess up the corner light socket so that it will not stay in the headlamp assembly. In my defense it appears the plastic holder was already munged up. Anyway, does anyone know of a source for a replacement for this socket/pigtail? It appears someone has already done this once since the wires are spliced to this particular socket. I have searched but no success. Thanks for any ideas in advance!

Followup: figured out after 1 1/2 days the socket that was spliced in was from some other make other than Volvo so had me spinning wheels for a bit. Was able to get a socket that was close to correct and worked out after wrapping a bit of electrical tape around it to tighten up the fit in the broken parking light hole in the headlight assembly.
Btw, this came about after attempting to replace halogen low beam lamps without removing front bumper. If you are changing lamps do yourself a favor and just remove the front bumper so you are able to remove headlight assemblies from the car.. MUCH easier this way.
