Is there any way to pull the codes out of a 1998 S70 GLT at home? It does not seem to have the diagnostic sockets. If it has the same ECU do you think the wiring might still be there so that I might be able to get the diagnostic sockets out of a junkyard and hook them up in my '98?

For a 1998 you need an OBDII code reader. It plugs in under the ashtray. You can use it on virtually any post 1996 car/make/model.

I will donate another 10 bucks as soon as I can find my card. I am so appreciative of this information, and this website. I have visited a few times over the years, and wish the site had been a little easier for me to navigate when I first started using it. When you need an answer asap and have to search forever to find it, it is a bit frustrating, but after a few years of only accessing the site when I absolutely need information, I am finally starting to catch on, its a valuable tool and the moderators I have had contact with have been very patient and accomodating. thanks Matt and thanks to all the moderators

Thanks for being a member. Yep, the moderators are just great people.

If you have kids, or are out of work, please do not donate. We'll keep her running.
