Re: alternator pulley

Can some gurus shed some light on this topic?

Let's say the P2 car Alternator Pulley is seized, when this happens, is it similar to P80 cars
(1993-1998 850, S70, V70) that used solid pulley? If so, then why is the serp belt shredded
in the P2 cars?

If the pulley clutch seizes no big deal

If the alternator bearing seizes, it destroys the serp belt

Perhaps it wears out much quicker, because alternator draws more power and engine is more mighty and gains revs much quicker?
