More statistics on US states and COVID-19 growth rates. My raw information is from Worldometer. Any errors or misrepresentations are my own.

These tables show all available US states and territories and the COVID-19 data for the last 5 days. I have sorted the states alphabetically and added growth rates for last several days for all states with ranking of each day. Of course, this information changes daily. I have presented the table in two parts because of the screen shot, but it is actually one table in Excel.

Again, results change daily.
August 30, 2023 the calculated growth rate for all United States was 0.0105. This is the highest growth rate since February 22, 2023, when it was 0.0108. The number of new Covid-19 cases are falling now, in late October 2023.

The CDC has announced the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and more states have ended Covid-19 reporting. Since May 14, 2023, 33 states and territories have not reported results. However, I still have been receiving reports from other states through Worldometer. I will be continuing daily reports as long as the information is relevant.

State growth rates for November 19, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: US Virgin Islands (0.140) with 25,874 cases, New York (0.090) with 7,254,311 cases, North Dakota (0.086) with 298,049 cases, Wisconsin (0.037) with 2,043,838 cases, and Maine (0.030) with 331,706 cases. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 487 of the last 515 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 365 of the last 410 days. North Dakota has been in the top 5 states for 149 of the last 168 days. Wisconsin has been in the top 5 states for 39 of the last 39 days. Maine has been in the top 5 states for 61 of the last 90 days.

Several states have stopped posting new case and new death numbers. I will back calculate where possible. These Districts and states have not reported in the last 30 days or more: Alabama, Arkansas, California, District Of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming, Veteran Affairs, US Military, Navajo Nation, and Federal Prisons.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00230 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00300. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 55 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 424 of last 657 days with decreasing active case numbers.

In early August, the number of reported active cases had dropped below 800,000 for the first time since July 2021. As of September 4, active cases are once again above 1,000,000. Since October 2, 2023, reported active cases have been below 900,000 each day.

There have now been 109 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.

On November 22, 2023 the reported cases had a Growth Rate of 0.00948. New reported cases are rising again.

State growth rates for November 25, 2023. All information is based on reported information and actual results may be different.

For your information, the top 5 states or territories yesterday in growth rate 30 day average (the worst containment) are: North Dakota (0.107) with 298,911 cases, New York (0.094) with 7,265,154 cases, US Virgin Islands (0.074) with 25,874 cases, Wisconsin (0.040) with 2,043,838 cases, and Delaware (0.033) with 340,718 cases. North Dakota has been in the top 5 states for 155 of the last 174 days. New York has been in the top 5 states for 371 of the last 416 days. US Virgin Islands has been in the top 5 states for 493 of the last 521 days. Wisconsin has been in the top 5 states for 45 of the last 45 days. Delaware has been in the top 5 states for 125 of the last 165 days.

My calculated growth rate for USA is 0.00277 for yesterday, down from previous day of 0.00351. This is not population or case number weighted. Yesterday, 55 states and territories did not report new cases.

Daily active case counts have been falling the last several weeks. There have been 426 of last 663 days with decreasing active case numbers.

In early August, the number of reported active cases had dropped below 800,000 for the first time since July 2021. As of September 4, active cases are once again above 1,000,000. Since October 2, 2023, reported active cases had been below 900,000 each day. November 22, 2023, active cases rose to 919,833.

There have now been 109 million total cases of Covid-19 in the US. This is 32% of the total US population. Reinfections and under reporting will distort the total number of cases.

With new home tests widely available, new case counts are likely under counting the true number of active cases.
