Hello,
The passenger side tail lights on my 2018 Volvo S90 are not working. Even after completely replacing this tail light and all the bulbs, it still doesn't work. Both of the brake lights work but none of the right side tail lights or the trunk lid light are working. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Thanks.

Do the tail lights have power at the bulb socket when checked with a volt meter?
Have you checked the tail light and trunk light fuses?
Wiring failure in the hatch hinge area is a common failure mode if these lights are mounted in the hatch.

No the tail lights do not have power at the bulb socket. In the owners manual, I can’t find the correct fuse for the rear passenger side tail lights.

Sorry. With no model and year specific knowledge, I can't give more advice.

I see this post is a year old so wonder what your resolution was. So I'm posting this perhaps for the benefit of the community.
I have had intermittent rear position light problems with the message 'rear position light malfunction'. This occurred after one torrential thunderstorm. Both my right rear position lights (the one on the rear fender and the one on the rear tailgate were out). I discovered based on other posts that if I disconnected the plug to the rear the position light that's on the rear tailgate, then the position light on the rear fender came back on. So it appeared to be the position light on the rear tailgate that was the problem rather than the one on the fender. In my case I tightened the bolts (with thread locker) that hold the rear position light on the tailgate and reconnected everything and then both lights worked (without replacing anything)! There was no evidence of water in any of the lights so maybe just condensation in the plug/light?
So to your problem - which light did you replace? If you replaced the outer (fender) position light then maybe (based on my experience) the actual problem is with the position light on the tailgate/trunk lid?
