I always learn a lot from his pieces.
He doesn't specify who did the wifi install, but since the overhead view shows the airframe has been painted, there is likely a different vendor involved. Final inspection duties still fall on Boeing.
Mr. Browne is clearly an angry man in several episodes; he flew earlier versions of 737s before moving on to other types.
He had no idea the cockpit door would fail completely in this sequence; it isn't mentioned in the operating documents.

I thought a cockpit door was to remain locked and safe so that’s an interesting point.

Remember when 737 rudder hydraulics would jam and apply full rudder and stay there? They instantly rolled over and dove. THAT was creepy.

Yeah, post-paint means it’s in Renton.

Does that stairway go all the way to the tent, and not that door?

The Boeing CEO is an... wait for it... accountant.

(If you're joining this thread late, I have nothing against accountants. I'm only mentioning it because we've mentioned Boeing's problems have been largely the result of their abandonment of engineering influence.)

Hard to watch them rivet a plane together in Kansas or Washington from your office in....Chicago.
They used to literally walk across the street.

Many of us have seen this show before - accountants become the management and the fine qualities of product design are diluted. Profits may increase for a while but often the golden goose is cooked and eaten.

Interesting that Wichita used to be a Boeing plant and in WWII built B-29s.

Boeing Plant #2 at Boeing Field just south of downtown Seattle, home of the B-17. In WWII it was camouflaged with a fake neighborhood overhead for fear of bombing.
