What I have now is a lca with brand new volco genuine mounts. The guy that pressed them in said the big one with the bolts may need a millimeter or more as his press couldn't do it precisely. I will test later these days.

What I also have is brand new volvo genuine clips for my s60 p2 weatherstrip. Mine had disintegrated causing my weatherstrip to bend backwards from a strong gust of wind. I had to buy a used replacement.

Oil and filter was changed on our 2001 V70XC. The protective cover is held with two M8x1.25; restoring threads using this kit...

I Installed my replacement weatherstrip today along with a few brand new clips. Clips were fairly expensive. But should last the remaining lifetime

The cowls just below the weatherstrips however are destroyed.

Meanwhile I replaced the right lca (used one)I didn't have time for the left one.

Today I fixed all the things that failed when I had to drive last week at -37 C. The radiator had a small leak that I've been monitoring for awhile that seemed to get worse after the cold snap so I changed it out with a Nissens. It's a bit of a dirty job for one person, out the bottom with the intercooler and back in from below. I snapped the handle off the oil dipstick which necessitated a trip to the auto wreckers today for a replacement.
I rolled the window down last week when it had Ice and snow on it and shattered one of those blue sliders, at the time I was able to get the window back up and continue using the car as it was, I just had to remember not to touch the window switch. That was fine until yesterday and I went to the carwash to clean the car before working on it. When I pulled up to the entrance muscle memory kicked in and I hit the window switch to get a ticket for the carwash.........This time the other slider came detached from the motor arm and the window fell into the hollow of the door.......rats! So that got fixed today too!

Note to myself and others:
When windows are acting up or frozen, put a piece of tape over the switch as reminder not to use the window.

Well this is all very timely! Yesterday I borrowed my M-I-L’s uninsulated garage to take apart my door and replace those clips.

I drove around running errands and cooked the interior until I couldn’t take it, to warm up the plastic. Pointed my wife’s old hair dryer at specific spots and clips. VERY cautiously popped off the trims and perimeter clips before they shot across the floor. One of the two big electrical connectors to the armrest controls was not coming out, and I was not about to force it. So the panel hung mostly out of the way and I worked behind it. A bit tough to get the window lift channel to the right height so the regulator arm pins lined up - the window had slid and felt cocked or jammed.

Got it all together - replaced both aftermarket blue clips. First test it bound up and stopped 4” from the top, anti-pinch wanted to send it back down. I went around the window slot and made sure the rubber wasn’t folded or pinched.
Tried to brush some waterproof marine grease in the lift track but it was like wax. Maybe as it warms up we’ll see how it acts - you just hold the button until the window is fully up.

Also retrieved a pile of substantial plastic broken bits from the bottom of the door under the speaker. I bagged them like a detective to reconstruct in the crime lab. It has rounded pieces - maybe a protective housing around the speaker?

Note to abscate - the clear shipping tape is very difficult to get off the glass and door paint.

Yup, you put me in the correct category.

With luck no welders or carpenters will have window problems ( they weld and hammer everything).

Garden duty. Cutting front yard bushes and moving them to back yard. RWD free diff garden tractor was too small for the task, Toyota Tundra - too big. AWD Volvo was just right.

Pinza AT are so-so in snow. I like General Grabber A/TX lot more.
