Change of pace - 1953 Dodge Storm Z250 prototype. Built by the Italian Coachbuilder Bertone, with the design by Michelotti (TR4, Maserati Sebring). Hemi V8 from a truck, Chrysler parts bin systems. Had the possibility of competing with the Corvette and the T-Bird, but an internal family squabble at Chrysler cancelled it. The Chrysler project manager / Engineer drove it for 11 years I read.

In the Peterson Museum collection now.

Pretty stylish.

A little bit Jetsons!

You can really see those Michelotti clues in the side view - wheelbase-to-greenhouse proportion, tight surfaces, the way the body drapes down low over the wheels. And a Hemi V8....BYE, Corvette!!

No. Hand fabricated, so I bet not light. I assume a big old Dodge steel frame and leaf springs!

This is my son's '86 BMW E30 (325ES). I was visiting this week and rode around in it. We rehabbed it when he was in HS / college and he still daily drives it with 210,000 mi. He and I swapped in a manual trans for the auto and then he drove it cross-country twice. Suspension all rebuilt, adjustable rear camber plates, H&R sport springs, Koni shocks, newer model quicker steering rack, replica Alpina wheels. It has wear and tear issues and the seats are pretty ripped up, but it's a great little car.

Heck yea! Those wheels I never knew were Alpina (knockoff). I'll never forget a ride in a ~1986 535i in 1987, it was fast and beautiful.

.
Finally got the manifold off the 05 GS430. Had a zip jacket with a hoodie over my head with layering beside jeans and thick sweat pants over it to deal with the cold. Found 2 items that could have caused the EVAP Code ever since the car was purchased. The rubber was so baked it was as hard as plastic and snapped as such. I used the two videos for reference. No way I'm gonna remember all those steps and screws.

That's got to take the cake on dumb engineering.
( I think I'm seeing a new thread on the horizon )
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.
