I had changed my two LCA to two used ones until I get both my old LCA's with new bushings. So far only one is done, but soon. In the meantime the two used LCAs I installed are much better than the old ones and car is much more stable on the road, it's perfect.
Additionally I finally went for alignment and things are now better with tracking and overall feeling.

Onto the fuel wars: Some were asking about 95-100 octane(EU octane rating). In my country all the fuels are E10 or have about 10% Ethanol content which as the name subtly implies reduces MPG by 10%, the car goes from an avg of 8.9 fuel consumption under normal driving conditions, to 10l/100km.
But lets focus on power, with 100 octane, my 2.4i produces less power, less oomph in my opinion. Logging the car I see almost no knock compensation, but as soon as I mix the fuel with regular 95 octane, the response and sound are amazing. Still, the E10 also robs my car of power. And my country does not sell E0 or even E5.
So maybe the sweet spot in my opinion is either pure 95 octane or a mix of 95 and 100.

Thirdly this not fixable without a rebuild but now I know more about my AW55. The torque converter clutch is indeed in a bad condition. Our Volvos have three modes of operation. Not locked, Slip Lockup and Fully Locked, in Unlocked and Fully locked I have not seen any problems, but in Slip Lockup my clutch is slipping too much and I get torque converter shudder in some situations. These situations are when you put gear lever position in say 3(for 1-3 gear limit), this forces the gearbox to lock TC earlier, but the point between locked and slip lockup is where it slips more than it should.

09 S60 2.5T AWD

Found the rear sunroof drain lines. Was looking under the car while replacing the rear Toe Adjustment Panhard Rod. Couldn't see anything so decided to look elsewhere.

Used compressed air to clean every part and direction then tested. Had cleaned two fronts with a weed wacker line previously and the driver's side rear drained test okay at the time also. Used a large amount of water resulted in water overflowing the passenger side into the vehicle.

Everything tested fine today after the compressed air cleaning, Front carpets to return into the car and rear area will be reinstalled after a heavy rain, just in case. Driver's side drain is easier to get to whereas you can't see the large grommet on the passenger side.

Correct fit? I watched what seemed like 3 orangex videos totalling about 3 hours regarding that job and learned nothing.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.

With most modern cars Toe and sometimes Camber is all that can be adjusted so none of the others specs from an alignment machine are needed. The only time it matters is if you have bad tire wear and if you suspect damage whether from a curb, huge pot hole or car has been in a collision. The rest of the time it's replacing worn parts to put things back to Stage 0. The only other time others specs are needed is if everything is within spec yet the car still does not track straight, then the other specs will be helpful to make fine adjustment to dial in good road behavior.

Use the have 4 ASE's in the mid 90's and one was the (A4: Suspension & Steering). You know what they say about not using and loosing. I was a good test taker but lack time in the field... One of these days I'll do a write up on how I do a 4 wheel alignment. Have always done 2 wheel alignments but in the last 2 years or so decided to give the 4 wheel DIY alignment a try. Kind of interesting and gaining more insight each time I do them.

Got oil report back from Blackstone Labs. Overall great for an engine with 164k miles, first sample I’ve pulled on this car. Yet to do coils, fuel level would seem to indicate they may help fuel economy.
