I was going to sell the car but Son said we could get more if it was running. Since my other Son just totaled the 00 S70 Base I need to fix this so he can have this back

The plastic male end from the canister broke off so they just left it in the hose. From the looks of it some kind of gasket in a tube to seal the male end to the canister. I tried to get the male end out of the hose and winded up breaking it in pieces. Will try and find a suitable sized plastic or copper barb splice fitting and insert one end into the box and other into the hose. Will use a little dab of gasket in a tube for any potential air leaks.

Growing up my family owned not one, not two, but three of these.
Champ, Horizon Miser, and a Chrysler New Yorker (2nd from top but more luxury).
The Champ I don't recall much from except that it had a second lever next to the manual transmission shifter that did something... low range?(!) We didn't own it very long, traded it on our...
The Horizon was a pretty good car. I inherited this car, and it had a VW 1.8 in it. No AC, no right side mirror. No FM/tape, only AM. No rear defrost. No anything. Manual. Same color, same wheels as the photo. Very light car. The back end would come out without warning on rainy or snowy roads on long curves. Ask me how I know this. It would drive for seemingly weeks on $5 of gas.
The New Yorker had that crazy, buzzy Mopar 2.2 turbo in it, and that thing could move. Digital dash. Great front seats, quilted/plush velvety material with many electric adjustments.

Really! I didn’t know that.
My bias is that a K car totaled our 245 turbo whilst we slept in on a Sunday morning. Shoved it up over the sidewalk and caved in the left rear corner and rear door.

I had the twin of the Champ - it was the 1980 Dodge Colt. The second shift lever on the floor was the two speed secondary transmission. This 2 speed was apparently cheaper than creation of an overdrive 5 speed.
Inlaws had a Dodge K car that I drove some. It drove OK but felt cheap.
In the late 70's there were many, many Horizons on the road. They must have all been crushed. I haven't seen one in many years.

Daytona Rolex 24 today and tonight. Bunch of jellybean colored cars zipping around, I can’t keep track of who’s winning. I checked - there are no Volvos.

My friend decided it was roadster weather a couple of weeks ago (before the deep freeze) and popped over in his early 60s Lotus 7 to help me with some tinkering in the garage. For some reason he left the bare "aluminium bonnet" home.
It has an old British Ford with twin Webers, a solid rear axle, a glass pack that dumps next to your ear, no doors, no rollbar, no headrests, an aluminum and fiberglass body over a steel tube chassis that all weighs maybe 1000 lbs. The fuel tank is right behind your seat in that open well. It's loud, it's quick, it's hilarious. Little kids wave.
