Drifting in an AWD vehicle is about as fun as drinking non alcoholic beer, waste of time!

There was definitely some prior lack of maintenance contributing to this. I've had my '04 XC70 sideways in a snowy parking lot many times for up to an hour at a time and never had any issues. Granted, it's not super happy doing it for long periods, and I did slightly overheat the trans once doing it, but I haven't had any issues as a direct result of it.

I'm confused by this - he ran the ATF low, it got hot and foamed, and blew out a vent? Is there a vent on the AT?
