Timing on 2009 C70

Post by MinnesotaJim »

I'm replacing the timing belt as part of head gasket job. First time I've done this. I used the tool to lock the cams, and made a mark at 12:00 on each of them. When I placed the intake cam on the head the cam makes contact with the lifter on the second cylinder, causing the timing mark to rotate away from 12:00 by about one notch. I don't want to screw up the timing, and shred this interference engine. Thoughts?
