Sat in one back in my High School days - when they were new - and knew instantly I could never drive it because the pedal box and my feet were incompatible.

It has an old British Ford with twin Webers, a solid rear axle, a glass pack that dumps next to your ear, no doors, no rollbar, no headrests, an aluminum and fiberglass body over a steel tube chassis that all weighs maybe 1000 lbs. The fuel tank is right behind your seat in that open well. It's loud, it's quick, it's hilarious. Little kids wave.
This reminds me so much of my uncle's sand rail. Same spirit: lightweight, fun, simple. Today's cars like modern 911s are heavy, super big (vs. say the 1980s cars), and crazy complex. Like a rolling Cray supercomputer.

From the same situation as the Antanov AN-2:

There were seven or 8 other cars, including a Lincoln Zephyr.

We managed to get the steering lock (!) to release, and I barely convinced my old friend to avoid putting a battery in it and attempt to start it. He's a let's-go-for-a-ride kinda guy.
Antonov is gone, as is the Packard V12 PT boat engine, and the cars are headed for the auction block.
If I didn't already have a book full of projects, this Buick would be a nice one to tackle. It needs everything, but it's all there, even the spares under the side mount covers.

Reminds me of my time at college in Scotland (believe it or not, I was educated....!), one of my room mates decided he needed a replacement car and asked me to tag along. The car turned out to be a kit-car of a Lotus 7 with a Ford 1600cc engine in it. Must have looked ridiculous with the 2 of us in it. My buddy is 6' 5" and I am 6' 2". I think we needed a pry bar to get us back out. The car was not well put together, but in the short drive we had in it I don't think we stopped laughing the whole time!!

Unfortunately my buddy ended up buying a 'sensible' car of some sort to appease his girlfriend (now wife!).

Still sad about the 850 turbo though........wish I could justify moving it north!
