This poor 1800ES has changed hands on BaT several times since '18, looks well sorted now.

Interesting story in the comments about the fuel injection system as received. Seems it had SAAB and M/B bits on it, and it ran.

Ex-"Press" car, which usually means it got the snot beat out f it, which may explain the engine change.
Sounds like there is a thread over on Swedespeed.

Well it does look like it has had the 'snot' beat out of it by someone. If it was not for the manual trans and the updated motor, I don't see the value? Lots of bad paint all over the car and someone is willing to pay $6k for it? Wow, maybe I should get the dust covers of mine and put it up for sale, although it is a 5 speed auto........?

And now, back to the original point of BaT:

While I (obviously) don't need another project, I sure hope somebody steps up and keeps this one out of the crusher.

Yeah, Baby! It's the right color, too.

He looks a little sad, has belts hanging out of his mouth. OH, it's injected. That old Bosch system was a bit of a PIA to keep up, wasn't it?

That 145 is not too terrible. Sure she has her challenges, but I had a 1979 245 repaired that was as bad as this back in about 1990-91. In fact it was probably worse than this. It would have to be a project for love and not value. But there is definitely potential.

As for the saffron V70R. Wow! For a car with non-original engine and trans, and dodgy paint that is some selling price!
