I made my 200 mile drive ok with the new ect , and started testing when we got home.
engine fan runs as soon as engine starts and temp gauge is dead.

Reinstalled the old sensor and everything went back to normal so I left it in place.

used an infra red gun to monitor engine temp with old ect, when it goes over 220f the fan turns on and goes off around 195f.
so the old ect is doing its job and temp gauge is back online again. a new bosch ect is over $60, i paid $25 for junk.

i found a small leak in the top seam of the coolant bottle, that might have been the original problem. ordered a new bottle.
