Which O2 sensor, 1997 850 5spd.?

I'm getting a P0133 code for the front O2 sensor on a 1997 850, engine B5254FS, manual transmission, 170K Km. The O2 sensor is brand new, so either it is defective or the wrong type. I got the Bosch 15097 from FCP, but IPD and eEuroparts show that for a 5 speed I should use the Bosch 13373. (I didn't see that before, I just bought the one recommended by FCP.) I tried sparkplugs.com, but they don't show my engine type.

If anyone could give me a definitive answer that would be super. Otherwise I guess I'll try the best two out of three?

I would give FCPGroton a call and talk to them. They sometimes list things incorrectly. Just tell them the problem you're having and that you noticed after your purchase that the part number is not the same as what is recommended. If they are in the wrong, they will correct it without charging you.

Or it's possible that the new o2 sensor is fine but another problem is causing the code to come back(I assume you reset the code after you installed the new o2 sensor?).

Check and fix any exhaust leaks
Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
Check the frequency and amplitude of the oxygen sensor (advanced)
Check for a deteriorating / contaminated oxygen sensor, replace if necessary
Check for inlet air leaks
Check the MAF sensor for proper operation

The physical differences between 15097 and 13373 are minimal, if any.

Thank you to both of you, and chuckcintron from an earlier post. FCP Groton was right! (And helpful over the phone.) So was IPD, once I talked with them over the phone instead of looking at the website. I gave Volvo my VIN number, and they said I needed part number 9202719, and my previous sensor was Bosch 9125580, which is the Bosch 15097.

According to IPD the confusion is because the U.S. didn't get non-turbo 5 speed 850s after around 1993.

So going with the assumption that the sensor was good I looked at all of the vacuum hoses I could find, and found an elbow at the front of the hood in the centre that was loose, and reconnected it. The hose came forward from the Air Pump Check Valve, and went to a little box beside the fan controller. I hope that fixes it for good, if not it might be the exhaust but I don't plan on replacing that for a while. Thanks again!
