Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

DTCS Error-Service Required+ AC Cooling issue-2001 S80 T6

Post by kblessitt »

Got the DCTS error-Service required. Is it safe to drive normally without traction control? One mechanic told me that the wheel speed sensors can get film on them and generate this error and also it could be the ABS module. How do i check for either :?:
Also, while driving the AC works for a time, then the compressor just stops and it blows normal air. What is causing this? We have noticed that the car generated an enormous amount of heat in the engine compartment.

thanks, 8)

Sure you can drive without traction control. In fact, there should be a button that turns it off on the console. Just be aware that you might get some additional wheelspin if you reall punch it.

A dumb question, but what do you have your AC thermostats set to in the cabin? Maybe the AC cooled the car down to that level so it shut off as it should.

The compressor shutoff can be caused by several things, low refrigerant being the main one.
