On selling a car to Facebook buyers

Selling a car to Facebook buyers is like catching fish with your hands.

It's not impossible, but it is frustrating. A fish will jump out of the water into your boat if you spend enough time on the water. The chance of this happening is simply greater than 0, so all you have to do is put in the time.

You need patience. In that respect I suppose it's like selling a car on Craigslist, or via a classified ad in the paper (if you've done that you're old like me).

I've logged seven contacts on FB. One has looked at my V70. He came over to look at it, liked it, but offered $750. The others have been very excited initially, but that excitement goes down linearly with time, as does the messaging frequency. Until they drop off the conversation entirely, and you're left wondering where did it go?

It’s simple really.

Put your number in , in a way that bots can’t scrape it, then use text to arrange a call time. Eliminate the back and forth texting of garbage information. If a buyer isn’t motivated enough to talk, ignore them

Now I'm selling a surfboard. Same effect. It really doesn't matter if it's cars or surfboards or grandma's nesting doll collection.

I agree with this. When I sold my C70 was 20x more activity on FB—but, 1/2 of that was garbage and low ballers. Many I didn’t waste time responding to.
