Our lights do have lines, but in a different pattern.
Ooh okay i see. Thanks for information i keep in mind this detail.

bmdubya1198 wrote: 08 May 2024, 08:09 Inspecting based on light pattern... meanwhile here, you'll pass inspection as long as there is light being emitted from the front end. Doesn't matter if it's a headight or a flashlight.
Ha! I need tell you then too that they here inspect even colour of your turn signal bulbs. If their yellow layer has been burned off (so its more white flash) you get fail notice on paper about it if they spot it.
In many States, you can pass inspection with your car on fire. Flames have to be smaller than 6 cm though.

We're not animals, a larger flame would possibly obstruct the view. Also, we use inches here, none of that metric stuff!

It's quite amusing the death traps that are allowed to drive on the road here in the US.

Finally changed out the xc90 struts that have been sitting in my garage for 3 months. This was my first time changing spring as well. I used 2 sets of compressors so 4 total. Despite the added security I was still quite nervous. I had to max out the compressors to remove the spring. Also I didn't have a tool for the cross nut and no amount amount of hammering or misuse of a box end wrench would move the cross nut. So I sacrificed one of my harbor freight sockets. The driver side spring seat had blown through which explains the clunking noise I was hearing. Now on to the blend doors :(

There are 'star nut' tools out there. Amazon in Canada lists OEMTOOLS version for about $22 CDN ($17 US). I would link it but links from Canada don't work when viewed in US from Amazon.

I've seen several but none were available to me locally same day so I improvised. I have no regrets.

I hear you, and love the improvising! I am fortunate to have the Volvo tool for front and rear as I got fed up fighting this issue.

Had my engine and trans mounts done at a local Volvo specialist. Feels great but unfortunately can't fully enjoy it as now the car doesn't start with the key. Checked the usual suspects but the shop and I are both stumped. I'll be relaxing a little before making a full post.
