'92 Volvo Wagon Window Regulator Question

Post by RocknTommy »

Drivers side window dips and is getting to be a pain.
I took the door panel off to see if there were any issues.
Is there a write up somewhere on how to replace the window regulator?

Thanks in advance!

Manual or electric windows? The manual window mechanism forms an "X" and the window is connected at the top of the X. I had some spot welds come loose that allowed the window to fall. Another time the x somehow got bent, I bent it back. Let me know what you need I might have it laying around. Can't help you on electric, don't have them. You can also try www.car-part.com for the nearest pick and pull.

Well these are electric and was hoping someone else
has gone through this process.
It is possible to get in there right?

Edit for update.
From searching the web, looks like you have to drill out the rivets to get at it then use bolts to put her back together. Will take pics for future folks bumping into this issue.

Is this correct? Seems too good to be true.

I had the same issue a few months ago. I got a regulator from a junk yard for $30 and installed it myself in less than a hour. In 92 they changed the design, so you can't use a part from a older 740, but it's same regulator that volvo used on various 92 and newer cars
