Seats peaked in the P80. P2 seats are bearable but a disappointment.

IMO the 98 S/V70 was the apex (not C70!!!!!!), but there is quite a bit to like about P2 cars still. I've never owned a P3, but I don't want to. vtl's testimony seems on target.

My mantra these days is "get an '07."

P3 seats (in XC60) were way worse than in my 2005 XC70. 2002 V70 had even more comfortable seats.

Honestly, seats in XC70 are somewhat awkward. They don't let you lay comfortably like in older V70 and don't let you sit SUV- or truck-like, because the roof height didn't change an inch.

I much preferred the seats in my old 1996 740 to the newer 04 v70.

Our son has his mum's 06 XC70. Seat is flat and uncomfortable. P80 is way better. 240 was a good seat. 740/60 was ok but a little flat and slidey in leather form. 940 we had had good seats too. Looked at buying a gen 1 XC90. Again seat is awful, but did try a version with 'R' design seats which were really good. Would have bought it but the dealer sold it out from under me even though I said I would buy it. They then told me there was only one type of seat available in an XC90...............

P2's also have a seat that I've seen in the S60 and also the R models which had a lot more thigh support. They were better than the XC70.

.
Did a final tweak on the front alignment while centering the steering wheel of the 2002 V70 XC. The rear is 1/8" Toe Out so not going to adjust the concentric bolt in the rear suspension arm for Toe. The front is now 1/16" or less Toe Out but the steering is centered and car is not pulling nor drifting left or right.
.
Also installed a cabin filter.

Sometimes it the little things in life that give the greatest of pleasure 🤣

The electrical plug connector for my cooling fan was broken when I bought the car, only one side had a tab to latch it into the receiver and could possibly come out when driving which would be a disaster had it decided to part company, plus it wasn't entirely waterproof sitting latched down at one side.

New plugs are not available from Volvo but I managed to aquire a used one.

I set about de-pinning it without the special tools required, I ground an old hacksaw blade to allow it to fit into the slot on the plug and the terminals came out easily.

A little silicon grease on the seals and it's all back together again.

I'm trying to cheer myself up now that the sun has gone and the rain is watering the garden again.

Looking through my camera here are a few more pics I took a couple of nights ago when the sun was shining.

My garden isn't complaining about the rain.
