Constant warning alarm & interior lights, 1993 V70 ('99)

I recently purchased for this v70 my duughter. The interior lights remain on & a constant beeping of the warning alarm. There is no indication of a problem on the instrument panel. Could it be a fuse of some other simple fix?

Welcome to MVS...but Volvo never made a '93 V70. Please consider your model again and let us know what it is.

I'm inclined to think that it's either a door sensor or tailgate sensor that is not fully engaged. Check all of your doors and the tailgate.

I do have the same problem with INTERIOR ligths stay ON after I changed AUTO DIMMING Mirror. Plus the keyless entry and sun roof were not working anymore.

Any idea? Thanks.

newitem, I answered you in your other post- see that...yours is easier to figure out than the other as this is what happens if you don't software update the mirror that you put in.

Hi MadeInJapan,

So should i just bring the car to dealer and update the software?

Do you think it will shut off all interior lights, will make the sunroof work, and the alarm?

I called dealer today, and they said I have to purchase the mirror from volvo which is exactly matched for my car. Then they will program the mirror ($610 for mirror+programming cost).

Now the keyless is not working either.

That's a crazy amount. Did you buy a Volvo mirror that is for your car? If not, then you might as well tear it out and pitch it or put it on eBay. You'll need one that is for your car, period. You might get lucky and get one from a junk yard, www.erievovo.com or even eBay for cheaper, but the dealer is the only one that can do the software download to "enable" it. Once enabled, all your other interior electrical issues should disappear.
