This is caused by the valve on the exhaust manifold failing and not closing which allows condensation to run down into the SAS pump. If it will still run, drill a small hole in the bottom of the casing to allow water to drain out.

Today's Volvo stuff was all in my head, wondering how much electrical overhead is available for things like a sound system or lights. Anyone have an idea what the overall draw of the car is like when stock?

I actually already did it, took out the pump, vacuum lines, capped the vacuum tree, left the solenoid plugged in. Only CEL was because I forgot to plug the MAF back in.

The valve seemed to be stuck closed, at least when I took it out. I couldn't blow through it, but it could have just sealed itself with corrosion over time. I couldn't get it to move with a handheld vacuum pump. The pump hasn't run and has been throwing a CEL since I got the car 2 years ago, and the water that poured out was a nice orange rust color, like forbidden orange juice. The SAS valve "stem" has also broken off the tab that holds it to a bolt on the heat shield, so it had been running on the turbo housing and actually made a divot.

I will try to see if it runs now that it's drained with a powerprobe, and if not I think there's bearings you can replace. The car is emissions exempt though.

The wife managed to dislodge the passenger airbag cover in her GLT, so I figured it was time to install the replacement I've had in the garage for a bit longer than I needed to.

The color match is off, but while I was in there, I discovered that the dash itself is pretty much on it's last legs. Did a couple quick fixes to repair some cracks, but I need to hunt down a replacement.

Also while I was in there, I swapped out the dash speakers, as the originals couldn't hold onto their magnets.

I don't know what Volvo engineer decided that huge pieces of ABS plastic without any reinforcement ribbing could be secured to the rest of the car by 4 plastic tabs.
I had a replacement I was lining the inside of the dashboard with fibreglass sheets soaked in ABS cement until I got distracted with other projects, might be something to think about if you do find a replacement, at least to reinforce the 4 tabs and other mounting points.

I spent a lot of time prepping the dash I swapped into my T5. Hopefully it holds up.

She drives this thing HARD. (Which is why I haven't turned the wick up too much on the tune

) The next dash is going to need some heavy reinforcement, but I need to find one.

Tried something similar. Might be the fault of my cement but they came undone pretty quickly, back to the drawing board for me
