Climate Package

Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

Climate Package

Post by rickybrandt »

Does anyone know if a climate package can be added to a car? Specifically I'd like to have heated seats - my '06 S80 doesn't have them.
Thanks!

It can be done with older cars like 850's but I'm not sure about S80's. You might ask your dealer especially with a car this new. Even if it could, it owuld take a software download to enable them in your car.

It might be possible assuming that the car is prewired for it. But you'd still have to purchase new seats and switches for the dash and maybe some relays. At the prices Volvo charges, you'd probably be better off just trading your car in on one that already has it.

Thanks, guys. I called my dealer today and he said they have never done that job and guessed it would cost thousands. . .sheesh! I'll have to suffer chilly biscuits in the winter I guess!

Get you a seat mat that you plug into the cigarette lighter...much cheaper. Oh, and less hassle.

We bought our son-in-law one of these as he travels to the North of Scotland a lot. Our daughter hoped it might work like 'Old Sparky' but he is still with us, only warmer.
