pcv delete

need a cheap way to get this car to stop leaking oil all over the driveway, anyone done a PCV delete? just thinking it might be better to have a vent to atmosphere instead of spending the 130 for a whole new system.

When it comes time to do mine, I think i'm going to buy bulk hose, and clean up the box.

I spent a lot to do ours and feel the same, that I should have just cleaned the canister.
I think that the car had regular oil changes and so there was not a lot of crap in it.
I did the big hose mod, and agree just use good quality hose.
The worst part is having to take off the intake manifold, but following I think RSPI's
youtube video it went just fine - really not that bad.

I'm using a catch can system. It relieves the pressure so you won't push out any seals and collects all of the oil in one place.
Pros - less pressure, and no oily film inside of the intake system.
Cons - Have to empty / drain the can often if the engine is worn. I've noticed that there isn't really anything, other than some condensation, in it with a fresh engine.

Thank you, that looks nice.

How did you hook it up?
It looks like it vents to the atmosphere.

AFAIK the stock system already has an oil separaror included (the black box under the intake manifold) where oil drains back to the oil pan. The gases are sucked out and returned to the ptc nipple in front of the turbo. Now I think there are catch can setups that delete the stock box completely, while others are added to the existing system.

I'm still not sure on how to proceed, but after replacing the front cam seals this spring, now one of the rear cam seals leaks quite badly. Therefore I suspect that under boost there is too much blowby around the piston rings and I'd like to get rid of that pressure before it pops a main seal.

I kept the original separator box, and just ran the additional catch can in line. Yes, it vents to atmosphere instead of going into the turbo, intercooler etc. I'm not sure if you can use it with the stock hose kit. I don't think so. You'd have to pull the intake and replace the stock hoses with 5/8" silicone hose. I'll try to figure out how to get some pictures to clarify.

You basically disconnect the large hose that goes from the stock separator down to the valve (PTC ) just before the turbo, and connect that hose to the can. Cap off the PTC. But that stock hose is apx 1/2" and winds it way around from under the intake and throttle body down to the PTC. You could probably cut that hose before it makes the turn, and splice on another piece to run to the can so you don't have to pull the intake. I have the can installed just behind the drivers side headlight.
