Fog Lights 1996 Platinum 850

Post by Haggispup »

Is there any way that the fog lights can be converted to driving lights.?

I find that the main lights ,headlights are just not bright enough and plan to put in Xrtavision but would still like to be able to get more light on the road.

The existing fogs are the round style ,whilst they look great would prefer more usable light.

Appreciate any advice.

Short answer - no. The fog lamp beam output is designed to spread light near the vehicle, so if you want a driving lamp, you have to change the assembly out.

I would try reaiming your current headlamps. My 850 has excellent coverage with US spec lenses, that may be the problem. Volvos are known for safety, and they would not and do not skimp on headlamp performance. I've driven much worse. My C70 headlamps are also excellent, to the point where I get flashed from oncoming traffic, thinking I have high beams on, when I don't! Then I blast them with my high beams - they probably go blind.
