Moral of the story - only change the right control arm.

Fixed the droopy muffler aluminized shield on the Kat - epoxied it to the spare tire well. Now, it longer hangs that shield in shame

Remind me, is the Kat your former AWD S70 and now prop-shaft-less and 2WD?

Looking at the missing bolt question, while I have difficulty orientation where on the car it is, it does look as Abscate has said possibly part of the motor mount bracket as that looks like the RHS of the transmission and possibly the speed sensor below it.

I would suggest it is needed as it looks like the bolt should possibly align with the black part and the bolt thread into there.

Nothing magical about Volvo bolts. They are 8.8 spec bolts for nearly everything like that.

I'm not 100% on this but it might be # 17 on the attached link.

Not sure what happened to the link? :

Put new fuel filter and fixed fuel relay back on 850 > No start, read codes and have one for RPM sensor no signal.
(To repeat.. car stalled previously and did run weakly so might been same problem all along)

It is being crumpy and asking more attention after 4 months sitting clearly. I will name it Karen if more comes.

Edit: False alarm.. measured and there is something else going on now as need notify my dashboard i dont get all lights when i turn on. So yes i started doing things when it stopped aka stalled and didnt try again so it can be already existing problem now got triggered to be a problem. Lets continue digging.

Here tested cables at starting. Plus cable way more hotter than ground cable does.

But why would my alternator get warm so quickly just at starting? Suspicious.

I was supposed to go to a car meeting in Falkirk tonight but just before turning onto the motorway where I stay I noticed the traffic was at a standstill and backed up so a change of plan, I went in the opposite direction and went for a drive where I managed to get a few evening pics as the sun was going down

Well, your alternator is pumping out a lot watts to replenish that battery after starting , probably 30 amps or so

That’s about 400 watts of electrical power, and at 90% efficiency, that’s 40 wats of heat.

Touch a 40 watt incandescent light bulb. Do it quickly so you won’t burn your finders!
