Innova 3100c

Post by ignatz »

My OBD2 code reader worked great on my 98 S70, 01 and 02 V70 but says error on my 2005 and 06 S60's. My Innova 3100c is from 2008 and wondering if buying a new code reader will solve my problems.
Thanks, Rob

Have you checked if the website for Innova has any updates? I plan to do that when I got back home. I did that recently with my Autel. It brought it up to date.
Do you have the original disc that came with it?

Neil.

I only have the instruction manual, everything else is gone, including the cable that connects the unit to the computer. I did download stuff on Innova's site, but then found out I'm missing the connecting cable.
Walmart has a store branded one for $19.85 (Hyper Tough HT100) that only reads OBD2 codes. I guess my question is, will the Walmart code reader work on my 05 and 06 S60's?

I went to Walmart this morning and got the HT100 code reader. It was able to pull up a code....PO442, so I'm back to reading OBD2 faults again.

I have found these types of Dongles to work well in both Android and iPhone compatible Bluetooth units. Just download the free Car Scanner software and it should have more features than most OBDII besides the large screen of your phone. You'll be able to be mobile while under the hood. One company I'd purchased from has gone as far to warranty the product with a replacement after contacting them.

Photo is of the Pro (Paying Version) which I don't have need. The Free App has a small strip banner ad at the very bottom which really doesn't draw my attention.
