Crank Sensor 2002 V70xc

Post by BeWritten »

It's throwing the code P0016, and idk if this is my crank sensor or not. The only reason I'm unsure is because the one I ordered (Part Number 907-962) is way to short compared to what I believe is my sensor. The one pictured runs about 2 feet to a cluster of plugs at the front of the car.

There are 2 options for this sensor in 2002. That is the sensor. P0016 also can be the cam position sensor and a bad CVVT solenoid and valve. I have been fighting this one on an 02 XC70. Only recently discovered the code can be the crank sensor. Not swapped that one yet.

If you check this link you will see the 2 different sensor types.

This issue can also be caused by dirty oil and filter. I believe if none of these work, it will be time to remove the oil pan and replace the O-ring seals that seal the oil feeds to the head.
