Hello. I recently purchased a 1999 Volvo V70 AWD for the extremely low, almost fradulent price of $450 USD, and I have a question that's probably been answered but I can't seem to understand/figure out a straight answer.
I've seen different ideas and places on where to jack up the rear of this car and I don't feel safe picking an option unless I know, for 100% certain, that it's safe. (I will be getting under the car.)
Jackstands are self explanitory but I'm having trouble with where to jack the car up in the first place. I have included two photos of places I've tried and I need information on which to choose (or where else to go).

Front is correct. That is the support, and the OE jack has a corresponding "u" shape to meet it.
I used the front subframe all the time, sometimes with wood to make a broad surface. Rear I don't know, I never had a P80 AWD. Someone will chime in who knows.

Best place to jack the rear of a P80 XC (98 99 00) is the two round solid steel structures near the jack point

Forward of the rear wheels, you will see it clear as day when you look under the car. There are large circular protrusions where the rear trailing arms mount to the body. In the front, use the triangle-shaped subframe mounting points and the rear of the front subframe

100% with V50M66 on this. I can' see if you have the little mudflaps just forward of the rear wheels mounted to the front trailing arm bracket that has been mentioned. It is that round metal part just in front of the rear wheels on an AWD car. Large bolt in the middle.
Under the rear where you show your jack on the rear subframe is another but less recommended spot due to balance issues.
Front as mentioned, the 'A' frame at the rear of the subframe.
As for jack support stands, I use the front subframe just behind the front wheels. At the rear is is a little more difficult. What I use is a stout piece of wood just forward of the rear jack point he mentioned, to spread the load. I use a piece of slim oak just large enough to cover the point contacts of the jack stand. There may be pictures still on my V70R rear subframe rebuild thread.

someone on here had a factory jack support brake off because it was rusted. didn't look bad at all, but be careful with them.
I usually use the triangular plate that secures the front subframe to lift it, and in the rear that red arrowed spot pictured above.

I didn't post about it I think, but the drivers side jack point of my 850 was broken of, mostly from misuse of pre-owners I think. Had it welded back together at a shop.
On my s70 I used them all the time to jack up the whole side if the car in one go, no issues. So maybe inspect how solid they look b4 you do that.
Otherwise I agree on the mounting points of the subframes. Pinch weld is also marked on 2 locations on the bottom, but I never used that with a floor jack.
