Code 121

Post by oberdahill »

I'm getting code 121 (Solenoid S1 short circuit to ground or control module fault). What do I need to replace? I live in Germany so parts are tough to get other than mail from the continent.

The shift solenoid in the transmission is going/gone bad. There is not a service port on the transmission to swap out the electornics. You need to pull the transmission and change out the solenoid pack (and all of the seals). For the time, effort, and cost ist is almost as easy to drop a new transmission in.

You can try a power flush on the trans fluid and restting the codes but it will probably come back.

Sorry,
