Missing PEM!

Missing PEM!

I have 2005 XC90 2.5T AWD, is it possible for the car to run without a PEM? Wanted to replace it with a new one but cannot find the PEM in my car. Checked everywhere, under the back seat by the fuel pump, RR wheel, top of the fuel tank and spare tire wheel well. The car runs fine! Any ideas?

Maybe check and see if you have a fuel pressure sensor (FPS) on the end of your fuel rail. If you do not, you probably don't have DECOS (demand controlled fuel supply) and instead have a non-variable fuel pump which means no PEM to promote variable control to the pump as would have been managed by the FPS values.
