Hi All, I have a xc70 2010 D5 205bhp my car drives fine then with no warning goes to the left then to right and go back straight, does not pull through the steering wheel nor under braking just normal driving on smooth road. It is like flicking a switch does it slightly worse under acceleration I have a speed dependent steering rack which has been reconditioned do you think the steering rack solenoid valve could cause this? I have spoken the the company that reconditioned the rack and was told they would not of checked this solenoid but it is a part that can be reconditioned.

Wow. It does not pull on the wheel at all?

That has to be in the rack, or the tie rod ends have massive play. Or some very serious tire belt problem. But you would feel that.

Does the P3 have an electric power steering? If it does it could be the pump on a non-electric power steering or the electric pump on that version. We don't have diesel Volvos over here, so parts drawings are not easy to find.
