It just didn’t do too much of anything. Needs to be softer to actually grab contaminants.
Ok, at least it's not causing damage or making an awful mess, I guess. If it doesn't work, I'll toss it, I suppose.

Nope, no damage fortunately. That would be a real problem!

I have, because I cannot wait for a new OBD-II reader to get here so I used Vol-FCR on an VM running XP and a KKL cable I happened to own to read the error codes, it actually worked. I got:
-EFI-448 Pulsed secondary air injection pump flow fault
-EFI-442 Pulsed secondary air injection flow fault

So the air pump or maybe valve or something else with the secondary air system then.

I wonder if this connection which I've shown before and which was disconnected, that I then I reconnected, has something to do with the secondary air system perhaps? I thought it was washer related but perhaps it does something else. But a few days after reconnecting this I got the error code so just a coincidence, or something else?

Disconnect it and blow down the rubber part and see if it bubbles in the washer bottle. I think that is your rear washer for your tailgate.

Does the pump run when you try to wash the rear window? The pumps seize if they have not been used.

Look up the SAS diode bypass, if it allowed in Finland. The pumps accumulate water and rust up solid. They are expensive to replace

Yeah I've been going in that direction after I saw the cost!

It's probably not allowed, but if the car passes emissions then they won't notice if the pump isn't working. I understand it won't do anything for emissions on a car that is already up to temperature.

I did the SAS bypass on the ECM. I've left the whole pump assembly in place. Not sure I need to do anything with it, perhaps disconnect the relay.

I had a busy weekend, so I did not get to the seat heaters. This morning I got the left rear passenger's seat belt unlocked and fabricated a little lever to replace the broken plastic assembly for the seat back release. One little improvement each day!

Every small improvement is positive progress! Good you managed to get the seat back released. They can be a challenge when the mechanism plays up.

3d printed the first version of a brake light cover (no way I'm giving $60 for the oem part!), and it's very close! Close enough to use while I get v2 done
