I just want to say thanks to @vtl.
You are correct, the ATF leak is from the L side seal!

The 2007 S60 underwent DIY routine service in June 2022 (115K miles):
- New GKN CV boots on both sides.
- New Axle seals (Corteco) on both sides.

In June 2022, I left the splash guard out and verified no leak for a week before installing it back.

It is now Nov 2024 (120K miles):
- R side: bone dry.
- L side: slight seepage...a drip here or there, ATF level still full.

I guess I will have to redo the seal next Spring when the weather is warmer. I will make a tool so the seal is installed at the correct depth.

I put Corteco seals as well when was doing transmission rebuild. Driver side one is leaking, too. Nothing major to warrant an immediate repair, and I have no will power to spend time in cold fixing a minor leak.

Make sure you install seal at a slightly different depth, to avoid groove from the old seal. Also don't forget that the metal part of the seal is facing outside, not inside.

As for the transmission case and pink sealant: it is an extremely good sealant. I had hard time scraping it off while rebuilding. Can see black/grayish Permatex eventually leaking, but not the pink one. Good stuff.

Can anyone here look up VIDA for me to see what seal tool is used for LH 2007 S60 P2 FWD auto?

I need to make a tool for this job (using wood) but I need dimension.

VIDA does not have tools dimensions, just the numbers. I used a sufficiently large socket...

I need the tool number so I can look it up and make a tool with the correct depth.

This way I can avoid subsequent leak.
Nobody enjoys doing this job (the seal job) twice.

As you know, the single most important thing with seal installation is the correct DEPTH.
