I was disappointed to find the discount is only for parts in current stock. I need a $500 window switch.

Interesting, I've gotten the discount on parts which needed to be ordered. The website let me place the order through the local dealership, but the dealership called and said the part would take some time to arrive. Fine, I waited, but still got the discount.

When the website says a part is not available, I suspect it is discontinued. You could try calling a local dealership, asking to order the part, asking for price match to online, etc, etc. It has worked for me.

FCP list the window switch as available to ship in three days. I did not try to actually place the order. Maybe the discount shows later. Fine print on the discount offer says parts in stock only. I ASSUME if it is available in three days it is not in stock. I have 4 days to figure a plan.

In this thread, I'm talking about deals at usparts.volvocars.com. Search for the part number there and see if it's in stock, has the 15% discount, and has any additional discount when ordered through your local dealership for local pickup.

Duh. I thought it was FCP sale. I found 15% off for the part at one of nearby dealers.

Nice find. I got 23.6% off a pair of rear springs. That's the 15% sale stacked on flat 10% store discount. I had to check a few dealerships (easily online) because my "local" one wasn't offering either discount. Thankfully one in another state had the deals. I ultimately saved $82 so it's worth the effort. And that's just on one pair of parts. Imagine a large order.

It's time for Black Friday / Cyber Monday discounts on OEM parts at usparts.volvocars.com. For Black Friday, they're offering 15% off parts. In previous years, they have increased this to 20% at the stroke of midnight into Cyber Monday. See if your local dealership, or any one which offers free shipping, also offers a flat discount which will stack with this.

My local dealership stopped participating in online orders. The next closest one still does but sometimes doesn't discount certain parts. This year, I may have to try ordering from some other dealership for shipping. Seems inefficient but I want the stacked dealership and sale discounts. I need at least one full set of subframe bolts for a major overhaul job, so I trust volvocars.com is a good place to get those less common parts.

I hoped our Canadian dealers might offer this but I think I have only seen a sale once in all the years I've been buying parts. Volvo Canada comes under the Volvo North America umbrella, so we had hoped that might happen. Having said that, we are screwed as they have notified customers as they use Canada Post for most shipments, with them being on strike, they will only ship over $250 CDN. I'm sure buying a couple of bolts will easily top that number these days.........!
