Vida communications to my vehicle V70XC 2001
Hi all. Can Anybody advise how I purchased a Vida, Dice communication device to communicate to my car. Is it an additional Dedicated Volvo only piece of software? Do I use it in addition to a diagnostics scanner or is it its own scanner? I have scan tools. I'm a bit confused on this Volvo system. Thanks

I would order vida installed on a laptop or on a SSD USB thumb drive you can plug into any laptop with 4MB ram or more.
then you need the interface cable, its called volvo dice unit or a get a jrl cable.
i have the boot and go with a dice unit, this guy sells everything with lifetime tech support.

Volvo VIDA is/was the official diagnostic tool at the dealers. It talks in it's own proprietary way to the cars and reads the codes as stored by their Volvo identification.
Note, that some Volvos(Denso in particular) seem to have a decoupled OBD/Volvo dtc system, where an OBD code *may* not have a corresponding Volvo DTC.
