Odd noise in reverse - S60 2.4T AWD 2002

Hi!

Ive been searching through the site, but I havent found the answer, so I decided, to open a topic. First, sry about my bad english.
Sometimes, if i drive in a reverse, suddenly I hear an odd noise at the back. Its as I hit something. (The first time, Ive heard this noise... )
The gear is a geartronic.
I didnt have any problem except this. The car is (and as I know- was) well-mainentanced. It has run 80.000 km.
Another smaller problem, that something oscillates in the A-column between 100-120km/h. (I dunno if in english we use the word "A-column" for THIS-> http://kepfeltoltes.hu/080830/s-60_www. ... es.hu_.jpg)
How can I remove the inside cover of the a-column?

I'm not sure about the A-Column cover but the sound in the back sounds like a propeller shaft going bad. From '03 (I believe) you have the HALDEX system which is much less prone to these type of issues. Get the bell housing at the rear drive differential checked. It might need new oil or it could be damaged from the drive shaft and need replacement. JRL who knows much more about these issues will most likely chime in and either straighten me out or give you more information.

Thanks your help, Ill change the oil, and have a look at bell housing. Ill report the result asap.
