That is disappointing. We have found over the years using anything other than Bougicord could cause problems. Strange thing is that I think I mentioned that my friend has a 98 V70 NA and her friend and mechanic fitted NGK leads that have been on there for about 10 years now and they have been just fine. Maybe, just like many other things these days the quality is not what it once was. Let us know if you can find the leads as they are getting harder to find.

Glad you found a solution!

I had an issue with our 93 when a Volvo shop had worked on the car and it would randomly cut out. It was the way they had routed the cable for the cam sensor too close to the distributor so that the signal from the king lead would over power the signal to the cam position sensor. Re-routing that and all was then well.

Neil.

I think it's not a quality issue, I think the leads are made according to incorrect specifications. I know from before there is wrong information out there at least with regards to the Bougicord leads for instance. They have the incorrect info about the 10V and 20V engines, swapped around. So I think maybe there is something like that here, like it's made perhaps OK, just to the wrong specs for this engine.

Probably some property of the cables are wrong.

In Finland if you use registry plate information on some part stores it might surprisingly show as mk1 V70 so you get some parts wrong even by that so need today go manually change it to 850.

It was a Man City Day
0 wins
3 losses
1 draw

Smoked the E83 and found cracked IM. Nit motivated to pull it, so reassembled and can be driven local. Draw

Installed battery switch on T5. But if struggle. Hard starting. Got code for bad cam sensor and cam timing. Not motivated. 0-1-1

Went to install new thermostat on house. Need C common 24VDc for that app. Traced thermo wire down to furnace and couldn’t find the same loom downstairs. Wtf? 0-2-1

Broken tray replacement on fridge arrived. Pulled drawers and food , found one guide rail not in box. On back order. Restocked fridge.
0-3-1

Did consolidate s70 AWD PARTS into nice boxes.

Replacing the Failing alternator. During Reassembly I found a melted vac line coming off a nipple right behind power steering pump side of the intake, guessing it goes to the PVC system? it’s kinda oil rotten. I should just stop right now order parts to do the timing belt water pump, or just tear the whole damn thing apart, lol
