Re: 2004 XC70 brake lights wont come on after changing bulbs

Hi All,
I know these brake light sockets melt (and lose contact), that would be my first guess.

I have had it happen 2x on Mom's 01 XC70.

I am going in soon to replace her rear lift supports (gas cylinders) soon and am thinking of putting LED bulbs in (to eliminate the heat of the bulb).
Has anyone tried it?
I am wondering if LED bulbs will cause a bulb failure message?
(normally it would be a simple "give it a try", but these tail light housings are such a beach to get out (and getting the bulb out/ in is even harder with them in)

Thanks,
Paul
