On the white car. As it says Fuego on the rear side window, it would point to a modified Renault Fuego. The Car Wizard has just been working on one for a client on his Youtube channel. Looks nothing like that one though!

From what the Wizard was saying they were not big sellers in the US, but were sold through AMC? dealers. They were good cars and for their day pretty peppy.

One story mentions they were built to chase the works rally cars across the desert, as proof-of-concept. My guess is there would have been a production price-point issue.
