Oh, really! Wow. The pictures of that are so unbelievable. We went 10 years later and other than some new green sprigs coming up everywhere, it wasn’t much changed. We saw the “miner’s car” with an info sign by the road. I think it was a Monte Carlo / Lemans. Flattened and burned to raw steel. The millions of huge tree trunks on the ground, stripped clean of branches, all parallel and pointed at the blast - so weird.

Looks to me it’s become more flattened as it rusted and tourist jumped on it.

I believe this is the Oldsmobile OmegaSport version of the GM X Body design of 1980. GM had a Chevrolet Citation, Pontiac Phoenix, Oldsmobile Omega, and even Cadillac ?? version of this over hyped small, front wheel drive design. I ordered a Citation in fall of 1980, but did not take delivery when it arrived with upsold hubcaps.
I have not seen an X body car in years.

I think I went and drove a Citation X-11 in college, just hoping it was a decent car. It was better than the stock version.
