Vauxhall/Opel Lotus Carlton with a 3.6 liter twin turbo engine with 377 bhp. Lots of whining in the papers when the car was launched in the early 1990's as it was the fastest sedan at the time with a top speed around 176 mph. Still a collectors car but hard to find parts. Great driving car. I had a Vauxhall Carlton GSi 3000 which was similar in shape but not the 24V i6 engine. Fast, handled great and amazing fuel consumption. But had the typical GM rust issue. Had to replace the hood at 5 years old as the front lip rusted out. Eventually traded for a 1992 Volvo 940 2.0 HPT wagon with manual trans. Also a great car!

The whining was because it was considered too fast for British roads and also the police could not catch them!
