Do you have a failing Electronic Throttle Module? What steps to take if you do, plus the latest ETM news. Volvo 1999-2002 models only please.

I have VIDA/DICE. If I buy new ETM, how do I program it?

Post by SoCalV70T5 »

I have a 2001 V70 T5. Idle sits at about 700 rpm. When I give the car slight gas after clearing all codes and letting it sit, it hesitates, then starts surging and that surging doesn't go away until I turn the car off and back on. I also have a hole in my acceleration partway through the rev range and my throttle seems to stick when I let off. Since I know that I have an MM throttle body and the car is 23 years old, it's time to swap it out.

Rebuilt Xemodex units are $400 on IPDUSA. I have a working copy of VIDA and a genuine DICE unit. What is the step by step process for reprogramming the unit? I presume I need to pay $75 for day access. What happens after that? Does anyone know what the current going rate for reprogramming the throttle body is?

Try the eBay late build ETM with universal software and skip programming
