Valve stem seals

I am ordering valve stem seals for the V70, and I know that Volvo blue box are recommended. But I am a bit curious why ?
I know that other brands are supposedly pron to leaking, but why ? There can't be a patent issue or anything proprietary about the rubber, and they are a common simple thing in every car. I mean 7mm is 7mm, and FCP has a few options that they sell that must fit.
I'm just trying to justify $10 each vs $1 each for another brand. Maybe if this was a brand new engine it MIGHT make sense, but still 10x the price gets me wondering. Why ?

It’s distressing but don’t stray from blue box.

There is a part number for 20 seals and bushings at about $89

Well that seems a bit more reasonable. I haven't stumbled on to that yet. Is it from a official Volvo site ?

Sveedy…if you are on a nasty budget , I’ve got a free set from my Elring gasket set I can send. They are probably good for 50k miles at least. Let me know here or Ny pm

^ Thanks Eric and Steve ! I ordered the Volvo set.

Still wondering why/what the difference is between the seals. If it was poor quality rubber or a loose spring, then I'd expect to see failures across the board with different cars, which the manufactures would address.
Maybe they have just been blessed with Volvo Holy water. I don't know, but it just seems kind of strange.
