Post by Pretribrapper »

Dash is showing hood open alert but hood is not open. I did adjust the rubber grommets but still showing open when closed. Any ideas?

Both hood locks have sensors in them that indicate open/close position. If you want to get rid of the message without replacing defective lock-unplug the connector to the lock and using small gage wire create "c" shape bridge between 2 terminals. Apply tape around the connector to protect from water and secure with zip tie so the wires will not rub.
Alternatively put the connector back into the terminal of the lock but not all the way and secure with tape around.
Locks are not too bad to replace, but will need to be careful and tape off front bumper.
