I wonder if the dead fan is preventing the AC from cycling on, it runs when the AC is turned on.
From NH I would scoot down 93 to N. Billerica and picknpull your own fan from Hollands salvage.
Have you checked voltage at the fan plug, should see constant 12v on the red wire, 5v or less on the small violet wire.

Good to know! I'll have to try the voltage. I just assumed it wasn't working because of the deterioration from all the heat cycles it's gone through, so I haven't looked too deep. Hollands is only half an hour away, so it's worth the trip. I was thinking of trying Jean Guys because they have parts listed on car-part, but I feel like they're more expensive than most.

Thanks!

I bought a new $550 fan, it still didn't work, the violet wire had green corrosion from physical damage near the plug, soldered a patch in and the old fan worked fine, sent the new fan back for refund.

Yeah, looking at a new fan for $750 gave me an ulcer. I'll double check that wiring!

Ended up getting a radiator fan from Jean Guys in Pelham, NH for $75. They're a little bit more expensive and are expanding pretty quickly, but I'd rather pay to have it pre-pulled than risk having a stack of cars crush me. Maybe that's just me lol. Looks like it's a newer rendition of the fan because there's plenty more fan blades than the brittled one. Thing works, haven't given a full test yet. I believe this should fix the issue, because I got a car wash with the AC on (not really cold) and when water hit the engine, the AC got much colder. Will update tomorrow!

The fan is critical for AC operation as it pulls the heat from the condensor. It will chamge the low and high pressure AC readings drastically.
