Figured out why my V70 was struggling to start AGAIN in the last two weeks.

Wouldnt start today despite driving to work 4 hours earlier with no issues. Quickly diagnosed as I couldnt hear the pump prime. "No worries, i've had a spare relay in this car forever !" he says, before opening the glovebox and seeing a 203 red relay

What a dingus ! I swear I had replaced the fuel pump relay and kept it in the car...
Drove back home with borrowed company car (short enough trip to be done on lunch break), couldnt find the spare relay, grabbed a spare pump and some spade connector, back to work.
Made a jumper wire, started right up and drove back home.

Once back home, I went through every box of Volvo electronics trying to find my spare relay, to no avail. I'll let you guess where it was...

I think , pedantically,

"The back of the bloody glovebox  (behind a spare ECU, maybe i'm being overprepared  )"

..it was in fact, in front of a spare ECU

I hope that eases your pain.

In every search by every logical person, the object is found in the last place you look.
Because then the logical person stops searching.

I couldnt find a logical reason to have the 203 relay in the glovebox other than mistaking it for the fuel pump one, so I never went through the car properly  An empty stomach at lunch time might have also been a factor !

Yes, but last time I checked they didn't carry them anymore and they had sent me a set of 10 valve wires.

I have over-accumulated parts and am being scolded, does anyone within a reasonable distance of the Mid-Hudson Valley NY need a sunroof assembly or a gray 850 dashboard that has been fiberglassed with a dashpad and center console? I have other parts I have too many of like airboxes I took to carry small parts and a 93/94 VVIS intake manifold.

EDIT: I also have a bunch of brake rotors, coil springs, old struts that I thought I would eventually find a use for, but I lack the time, space, skills and especially creativity to actually use them. If anyone could use the pieces for fabrication or projects or knows anyone who could please let me know. I can deliver a reasonable distance or meet somewhere in between but my schedule is hectic.

You too? Mine initially arrived as 10-valve wires, but had the 20 valve part number on them. I assume someone at the factory messed up. They initially seemed doubtful I had the wrong wires, but they did ask for pictures. When they realized I did indeed got the wrong parts, they acted very quickly to get me the right ones, and didn't make me send back the wrong ones before shipping. In fact they didn't ask for them at all.
