Active Xenon Headlight won't bend, V70 Mk3

Hello, The nearside headlight has stopped "bending" when going around bends resulting in a fault message showing on the dashboard.
My local garage tells me that the associated motor is faulty but cannot be removed from the headlight unit and the cost of a new headlight is too expensive for me.
Are there any cheaper options available to me?

On xc60 and I think v70, xc70 of 2008-2016 front headlights should be easy to remove. I believe it is just 2 pins that you lift upwards from the engine bay area and headlight is ready to be removed. I doubt that volvo made separate connector for left and right side, so first verify that your problem is indeed internal to headlight. Remove and switch headlights(use some rubber cords to make sure they not fall or similar idea) and with engine on move the steering wheel side to side. If the previously "broken" unit works on the opposite side-your problem is in wiring and it is totally different beast(2 weeks ago another member on this forum discovered faulty fuse for his bending headlight issue). If the headlight in question still acts like before on the known good side you narrowed it to the headlight itself. Based on my quick search volvo sells headlight motor for about $100. Go to volvo parts website, enter your vin code and search for headlight. It will give you schematics of the unit. If the item(motor) is available for sale as separate unit-it is replaceable and your garage simply doesn't want to mess with this project and it is easier for them to quote you on headlight rather than fixing it. If your able to obtain the motor and likely back seal you can attempt to replace it yourslef. Likely it will have 4-8 plastics tabs and you will remove back panel. From there likely 2 screws to mount motor and a wire harness for control. That would be my suggestion

Hello Vova585, Volvo U.K. says that they don't supply a replacement for the faulty motor and that the only option is to replace the whole headlight which can be bought for £1400!!
As you may surmise, I'm going to live with the fault.
