Paint is a lot rougher than the photos , especially the hood.

Okay , true confession. My mantra for these cars is to look for 100k models even with major engine or transmission trouble, good bones, this one looked great with 108k on it.

Unofortunately , with the right glasses on, it listed at 180k

Doh!

Of course, it starts, runs, and shifts as smooth as silk, and the one code for evap was an unplugged hose.

Ouch, should bolt back on for 95% perfect fit though.

Found out the condenser and evap of the ac was shot.
Then saw some metal flakes in the orifice.

So replaced everything:
Compressor
Condenser
Damper
Dryer
Oh. And also replaced heater core. Apparently it was leaking, causing loss of coolant.

Meanwhile cleaned up the bonnet latches, replaced bonnet release cable and accelerator cable and removed the pre-heat shield and pre-heat shield hose.

And the bumper bolts have seen better days.

I was about to ask if yo had replaced the orifice valve/filter, especially as you said you found debris in the system. Glad to see you had a picture of the valve and it had done it's job!

Major work you are going through. Very satisfying though!

Where exactly in the system Is that orifice filter located ? Is it in the tube ?
